Dear Wizard Families,

I am writing to provide an update on Fundraising and Volunteering for the North Edmonton Wizards Lacrosse Club.

 FUNDRAISING

Thank you to all who supported our Club Fundraiser through Purdy’s. Overall, we raised $375 for the club which will be used to pay for replacement of Wizard promotional banners used at registration or evaluations, our Come Try it Event, advertising etc.

Team Fundraising:

If your team would like to participate in additional fundraising, the following is a non-exhaustive list of options. Please note, the AGLC requires licenses for gaming events such as, casinos, raffles, bingos and pull tickets. It is each team’s responsibility to ensure any AGLC requirements are met. For more information, please visit their website at: https://aglc.ca/gaming/licences

 VOLUNTEERING

With our lacrosse season on the way, we have several opportunities for our members to help make the experience efficient, effective and most of all FUN for the children. Volunteer opportunities can be fulfilled through team or non-team roles as described below:

Team Volunteer Roles:

  • Head Coach - 1/team
  • Assistant Coach(es) - maximum 4/team
  • Team Manager - 1/team
  • First Aid Volunteer - 1/team

This volunteer must have a valid first aid card as well as a first aid kit and be present at all games.

  • Ice Parent - 1/team

This parent will bring a cooler filled with ice packs to each game. The cooler will be on the bench.

This parent will take photos of all kids and plays during the game and then provide these photos to all parents at the end of the year. Parents must provide a photo stick to retrieve photos. Each parent on the team must sign a waiver to have their child’s photo taken and distributed to members on the photo stick. The waiver can be obtained from your Team Manager.

  • Parent Liaison - 1/team
  • Fundraising Parent/Treasurer - 1/team
  • Snack Parent - up to 2/team

These positions can also be used/assigned for any parent who wishes to go in the timekeepers box FULL TIME all season.
